At Brisbane Guitar Making School, we're excited to expand beyond guitars with our Ukulele Build Courses Either over four consecutive Sundays, you’ll transform raw wood into a beautiful, handcrafted tenor ukulele or build a ukulele in an weekly 4 hour class. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or a complete beginner, our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
This is not a kit assembly course, you will be making a tenor ukulele from hand selected Australian tonewoods from scratch.
Hands-On Learning in a Fully Equipped Workshop
Our course is designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. You’ll work in our purpose built teaching workshop in Sumner Park, with all materials provided.
Classes are intimate, with a maximum of six students, allowing for personalised instruction and mentoring. You’ll learn essential woodworking skills, including the use of both hand and power tools, and leave with a high-quality, great-sounding ukulele. No woodworking experience needed!

Duration: Four full days (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Cost: $1499 (includes all materials
and a light workshop lunch)
Capacity: Limited to 6 students
Requirements: No prior woodworking or ukulele
playing experience needed.
Must be over 18 and can follow safe work instructions.
Weekly Classes
Weekly classes starting from16 September
Instrument: Custom Ukulele (concert, tenor, bariton or 6 string (other small
instruments can be considered, Mandolin, Irish Bouzuki etc)
Materials: Custom builds may buy and build their materials* from any where
with appropriate material
Duration: 4 hours (Monday evening 6 - 10 PM)
Cost: Estimate total cost over 4 months:
$2,500 made up of the following:
-$220 enrolment fee
-$130 consumable fee
-$121 per class fee (average of 15 classes)
-$300 to $500 budget for materials
Capacity: Limited to 5 students
Requirements: No prior woodworking or ukulele playing experience needed.
Must be over 18 and can follow safe work instructions or accompanied or
supervised by an parent or guardian.
